Willy Batenburg

It all started when Radio " Rijnmond " played a cassette of Willie Batenburg ( 65 years ) from Dordrecht.
The results were amazing: the telephone kept ringing.
This nice man ,that performs in Tiroler costume has grown from regional hero up till a national hero.
When Willie sings, he appeals with friendliness that makes you happy.
Okay you can not understand everything what he sings, because he is not so secure with his lyrics,
but no one will hold it against him, because wherever he, is it's a party.
Also his CD's fly out of the shop as sweet bread, and some of them have tremendous sales records.
Willie says that he sings in seven languages and as you hear him it's mostly true, but all mixed.
But he enjoys his work and their is nothing to stop him from singing and make him a lovable person.
He has been in America and Austria where he has as much success as here in Holland
he has grown out to a real cult.
